Top 5 ER hunks
By James Whittington, Thursday 8th February 2018

From Monday 12th February at 8pm, CBS Drama viewers will be able to relive multi award-winning series ER from the very beginning. See how the regular cast won over audiences in the 1990s as the emergency room physicians and staff at Chicago's County General Hospital.

Here's our list of ER hunks from this marvelous medical marvel.

Eriq La Salle
Playing Dr Peter Benton for a massive 171 episodes, Eriq La Salle (above pic on the right) set hearts to swoon as the no nonsense and, at times, prickly surgeon. Born in 1962, Las Salle was a TV regular in the US appearing in such classics as L.A. Law and Quantum Leap before he started in ER in 1994. After he hung up his scrubs he went straight into another cult classic, 24 and hasn’t looked back. During his time, he was able to flex his directing muscles on such shows as The Twilight Zone, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and even an episode of ER, (The Family Man) in 2009.

Anthony Edwards
Raking in an impressive 182 episodes, Anthony Edwards played Dr Mark Greene, an integral character for the first 8 seasons of the show who was often the focus for a lot of the plot-lines. Edwards’ gave the character a fallible edge, something that earned him a lot of followers and some of the strongest stories in the entire run. Remember his starring role of Gilbert in Revenge of the Nerds (1984)? well in ER, Edwards was able to stretch his acting ability to bring a real edge to what could have been a rather weak character.

Noah Wyle
With and incredible total of 254 episodes under his belt, Noah Wyle (above pic on the left) is probably the most recognisable member of the ER team. Carter or to give him his full title Dr. John Truman Carter III he worked his way up the ranks though he didn’t have to work for a living. Wyle’s charm and innocence shines through giving Carter a true three-dimensional portrayal of a man who really did want to make a difference.

George Clooney

Although George Clooney only managed 109 episodes, ER made him an international star. Dr Douglas “Doug” Ross was suave was very different from one of his first big roles, that of Matt Stevens in Return of the Killer Tomatoes in 1988. Ross was a womaniser who had all the chat-up lines you could ever want, a glint in his eye that anyone would fall for, but he also had a weak side and his commitment to his role as a paediatrician was undeniable. When Clooney left one of his first roles was as Bruce Wayne in Batman and Robin (1997) the less said about that one, the better!

Mekhi Phifer
Dr. Gregory "Greg" Pratt is a natural leader living with a secret and brought to life expertly by Mekhi Phifer. This skilled actor came to the series late in its run but still racked up and impressive tally of 136 episodes. Another smooth operator with a grin that melted many hearts. Away from the wards, Phifer also gained critical acclaim in Eminem’s superb drama 8 Mile in 2002 as well as a gloriously gory turn in the superb remake of Dawn of the Dead in 2004. Here he is in a scene from the movie Pandemic from 2016.
