The final season of this critically acclaimed drama, inspired by the experiences of a real-life police hero come to CBS Drama this month.
Despite having over 30 law enforcement agencies, Washington DC still has the highest crime rate in the US. With politics and indifference being a large factor in this, the city hires Newark PD Chief Jack Mannion (Craig T. Nelson), a movie-quoting, lounge-singing former NYPD transit cop who claims he can (and has successfully) cut a city's crime rate in half.
He has been brought in by Mayor Ethan Baker (John Amos) to overhaul an antiquated, dysfunctional organization that’s ill equipped to deal with the problems of a sprawling, crime-ridden city. As much a friend to ordinary citizens as to high-ranking politicians, Mannion has quite a task ahead of him. Externally, he has to fight crime on the street, but, internally, he’s fighting an equally important battle against the police-department bureaucracy that has suffered 20 years of neglect from the federal government that controls it.
To help solve the pressing problems of America’s capital—the proliferation of illegal weapons, drug trafficking, juvenile crime and police corruption—the unorthodox police commissioner immediately selects the most promising officers around him to become his inner circle of aides. With only limited support from Mayor Baker, Mannion hustles to teach this group of modern-day “Untouchables” a radical, new approach to fighting crime—one that’s based on Mannion’s unique philosophy of police work. And as they set out to clean up their department and clamp down on crime in the world’s most highly policed city, the question that always looms is “Will the mighty politicians of The District allow them to do it?”
7th Heaven - Season 4
Weekdays 3pm repeated the following day 10am and Saturday omnibus from 10am
The longest running television series from Aaron Spelling follows the Camden family as the minister father and stay-at-home mother deal with the drama of having seven children, ranging from toddlers to adults with families of their own. The central characters are the Revered Eric Camden, his wife Annie and their seven children Matt, Mary, Lucy, Simon, Ruthie, (and the twins, David and Sam).
The friends, neighbours, and love interests of the various members of the family weigh heavily on the plot of the series, which seeks to address a real-life issue with each episode.
In season 4, eldest son Matt moves out of home, and Eric suffers a mild heart attack from stress of work and the arrival of the twins. Annie and Lucy get involved in a protest about the treatment of woman in Afghanistan, Mary faces the possibility of jail time, Aunt Julie goes in to Labor at the Camdens, Eric serves on a murder trail and must convince his fellow jurors to vote guilty, and in another episode when Eric spies on his kids, he catches Lucy making out in public with Rick Palmer— played by *N SYNC’s Lance Bass – a bit of six degrees of separation as fellow band mate Justine Timberlake went on to marry Jessica Biel who plays the part of Mary.
